Placing Orders and Payment
You place an order with Designers Candy by selecting products and adding any items that you wish to purchase to your shopping cart and completing the ‘checkout’ process. You must pay for products purchased on this website at the time of placing an order. Designers Candy reserves the right to accept or reject an order for any reason including without limitation, unavailability of product; an error in the price, image or the product description; an error in your order; or delivery location. Orders are deemed received by Designers Candy at the time of successful transmission of the order, after which you will be unable to cancel the order. Orders are deemed accepted by Designers Candy upon Designers Candy acknowledging the order or failing to reject the order within 21 days. Designers Candy provides a built in Freight Calculator that automatically calculates the delivery costs associated with your order. Simply place your item/s in your shopping cart and add your delivery postcode. The freight calculator will then review your postcode as well as the value of your order to determine the delivery charge. GST will be added to you order at the checkout. Designers Candy will not process your order until full payment of the order has been received by us (in cleared funds).
We aim to complete delivery within 5 – 10 business days for in-stock items and 4 -6 weeks for indent items. Any delays and you will be notified, but we cannot be held responsible. Sometimes there are delays internationally or between the North and South Island that is beyond our control and will delay your delivery, this is not the fault of Designers Candy or the Designer Boys. If more than one product has been ordered your product may be delivered on different days. Deliveries will be made during normal business hours from Monday and Friday 9am to 5pm. A Post Office box address cannot be accepted.
All orders are shipped from Auckland with freight added to the invoice. Please make sure that your address details are correct as we may have to charge a re-delivery fee if your delivery address details are incorrect or an additional Rural Delivery fee if RD status is not originally stated in delivery address details. Please advise at the time of ordering if there are any special delivery requirements, if not advised you will be charged for any additional freight costs associated with the delivery or delivery may not take place.
We recommend that you have someone there to be able to check your goods and sign to ensure that your items are safely delivered. If there is nobody to sign for the goods when they are delivered the items will be returned to their local depot and you will then need to make contact with the freight carrier directly to arrange an appropriate time for a re-delivery.
Receipt of Delivery and Transit Damages
On receipt of delivery Designers Candy strongly advise you to thoroughly check your goods and asks that before signing as having received the products in good order you immediately unpack and inspect the product/s for any faults or damages. If there is any obvious damage to your order during transit or you have any concerns you must make the appropriate notes on the delivery cart note before signing it and ask the driver to initial your remarks. If you have not inspected the product you have 24hrs to do so if you need to make a claim. Photo’s of the fault or damage must be taken immediately following the delivery and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Designers Candy does not assume any sourcing risk and is only obliged to ship from existing stock or from stock ordered from suppliers. Designers Candy has no liability to you in the event that its obligations to ship products to you ceases to exist when, Designers Candy, through no fault of its own, does not receive goods in full or on time from suppliers, (provided always that Designers Candy has informed customers as soon as reasonably practicable of the failure of its supplier and/or and has not explicitly agreed a separate sourcing risk). In such circumstances any payments made by you will be refunded.
In cases of force majeure (as subsequently described), shipping duration may increase within reason. Force majeure shall include strike, exclusion, official intervention, energy (or resource) scarcity, shipping difficulties, business complications such as fire or water damage to machinery, weather delays, lightning or any other unforeseeable business complications for which Designers Candy cannot be held responsible. Designers Candy will inform you of the starting (and ending) point of such shipping impediments as soon as reasonably practicable.
Damages & Shortages
All shipments should be inspected immediately on arrival with all exceptions noted on the delivery receipt at time of delivery by the carrier. ALL CLAIMS FOR DAMAGE AND OR SHORTAGE MUST BE MADE VIA EMAIL TO INFO@DESIGNERSCANDY.CO.NZ WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RECEIPT OF THE MERCHANDISE. Digital photographs of damaged goods and boxes will be required for replacement of damaged goods. Save all damaged cartons until any claim with the carrier is settled. Once we have received all of the information regarding the claim we will liaise directly with both you and our suppliers to resolve the issue.
Each artwork is custom made for orders and as a result we cannot accept returns.
Each product purchased is sold subject to its product description and image on the website. Care is taken to ensure all details and descriptions are correct at the time of purchase. Products supplied by Designers Candy and their suppliers are handmade and crafted by artisans around the world. The hallmarks of handcrafted products are that they will have slight variations in colour, shape, texture, grain or otherwise and have irregularities in shapes, surfaces and finishes. These should not be considered defects but unique features within each piece. Products cannot be returned as faulty due to these handmade irregularities. Photography of products on the internet may vary in colour, size and finish from actual items.
Please choose your products carefully as we do not have to provide a refund if you have changed your mind. Only faulty or damaged goods in transit may be returned and are subject to conditions of the Consumer Guarantees Act and will be authorised at Designers Candy’s discretion. You will be offered a replacement item if available. If a replacement item is not available you will be offered a refund. A refund is not available if a replacement item is available. Faults not reported within 24hrs are not eligible for a refund. If a product needs minor repairs Designers Candy under the Consumer Guarantees Act can choose to repair the item rather than replace it.
Please keep the goods and all packaging in the same order that they arrived. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all products are suitably packaged in order to prevent damage during return shipping. We will arrange for the return of the damaged goods and for replacements to be sent to you if a replacement product is available. If a replacement is unavailable then a refund will be given. Proof of purchase, must be included with the return product. If proof of purchase and proof of damage is not provided with faulty goods a refund or replacement will not be provided.
Products that fall into the following categories will not be refunded unless they are proven to be faulty:
- Any goods made to a customer's own specifications, made to measure or personalised items.
- Self-assembly furniture cannot be returned once assembly is part or fully completed.
- Fabric that has been cut cannot be returned, please check for faults before cutting
- Wallpaper: Please check batch numbers, colours and paper before cutting or hanging. Designers Candy is will not accept refunds once paper has been cut or hung or for poor quality work from tradesmen.
We aim to process these returns or refunds as soon as possible but this may take up to 30 days from the date of notification. Replacement items if available may take up to 20 weeks for delivery and delays from our suppliers are not the responsibility of Designers Candy. We will arrange to collect the return item from you and will apply an appropriate collection charge. The collection charge will be the same cost as the original delivery charge levied and will be deducted from the refund value when processed. All refunds will be provided to you by electronic funds transfer to your nominated account and is at the discretion of Designers Candy.
All items on sale that have damage disclaimers at time of sale cannot be returned and sales are final.
Order cancellations that are made after receipt of payment will incur a 20% handling fee of entire order value. Cancellations are not accepted for already dispatched orders. Cancellations on custom made and indent orders are not accepted once deposit is made. For all orders made online we cannot offer a refund as these items are custom made to order and indent.
All prices shown on this website are in New Zealand Dollars and are only applicable in New Zealand. Prices are subject to change without notification or become withdrawn. All prices are subject to New Zealand Goods and Service Tax (GST) of 15%. The total cost of your order is the price of the products ordered including NZ$ GST plus delivery (which is charged separately).
In the event that a product is out of stock Designers Candy will contact you by email or phone and give you an indication as to availability and an anticipated delivery time. If you have paid for an item/s that have subsequently sold out or are not available and you do not wish to proceed with your order you will be offered a full refund.
Many of the Designers Candy brands have products that are handcrafted in artisan factories all around the world. Small irregularities in shapes, surfaces and finishes are hallmarks of such craftsmanship and should not be considered defects. The actual items may vary in colour from the photography. Specifications in size and finish may vary from those shown or stated. Designers Candy accepts no liability for any error in data or other information transmitted through this website, whether that error is caused by you or any technical malfunction or unauthorised access to or alteration of data or other information transmitted through this website or of any information contained on this website.
Designers Candy does not guarantee and accepts no legal liability arising from or connected to any reduction in the quality, colour fading or the occurrence of mildew or mould or any other damage arising from the site conditions under which the artworks are displayed and over which it has no control.
Designers Candy warrants its products for six months only from date of sale against manufacturing faults which are determined at Designers Candy's discretion. Designer Candy does not warrant against any damages / deterioration that may occur due to site conditions or mishandling in which it has no control.
If there are any problems with your order, you will be contacted by the Designers Candy Customer Service team.
Designer Boys warrants its products for six months only from date of sale against manufacturing faults which are determined at Designer Boys discretion. Designer Boys does not warrant against any damages/deterioration that may occur due to site conditions or mishandling in which it has not control.
